For cybersmart we have been learning about the purpose of a blog post. There was a slideshow we worked through and there were activites to do. The task was to create a comic strip about what the purpose of a blog was. We also went on this site called flaticon which when you search for something like a character for example, a girl, it will show all these icons of girls. So we used that to help us with the comic strip.

Today I am posting a google drawing that is all about me. What we had to do for this task was basically write down some things about yourself, your interests, introduce yourself, your goals and your funniest memory and a picture of yourself, since we didn't have pictures of ourselves we used Avatar maker to create ourselves and what we look like. In cybersmart we are learning how to take care of our chromebooks. We did this task to update our blogs.

Today in class we have been learning how to take care of your chromebook and how to participate appropriately online. We read the kawa of care and read the rules of how to take care of our chromebooks. We are doing this because it is apart of our cybersmart and we also need learn about how to take care of our chromebooks, especially when it is a school device.
Our task was to create a google drawing of our own kawa of care. We got some ideas from the original Kawa of Care so that we would know what to write. There is not too much to explain what I did, but here is my Google Drawing:

For Cybersmart we are learning about media. One of the tasks was to make a DLO, making it look like a site that someone has clicked on. You have to make it look real, and you could pick an event on what to write about. It is a news article. In this news article you had to include all the things that you normally see while clicking on different sites, Including Titles, The link they clicked, Click bait, Ads and a date for proof that it is real. We also needed a name for the site.
The topic that I wrote about was camp. I couldn't find any pictures so I just used some off of google. There also had to be some things that were related to the search, and you had to put who wrote the news articles.
The other task that had to be done was to make a google drawing on faek news. So basically you would make a article that had fake news in it and you had to include an URL that was not real. Your fake news could be anything you wanted, my fake news was a cat talking and a girl allergic to boys.

Today our class (Room 6) and Room 5, have been busy all morning because we had to join these meetings (hangouts) to understand how these different tools on our chromebooks work. There were different schools from the Uru Manuka that were presenting each of these tools that we could use.
These meetings were all going on at different times because people were joining different hangouts and there were a lot of different schools and people that joined these meetings. My camera would not work so it was turned off for all of the sessions. These tools could help us in the future so this is why we were learning how to use them.
One of the meetings that I really liked was the Scratch Shapes because they explained it very well and they moved on a quick paste but you could also keep up too. Scratch Shapes was my favourite because it was explained really good and I learned something.
