Kia Ora!
In class we have been learning about St Bernadette. We have been doing research on her about what happened when she saw Mary. We watched videos of what happened and read on different sites about the information about what happened to St. Bernadette. Then we had a sheet that would help us with our digital work. On the sheet there were questions asking when St. Bernadette was born or when she died or her personality and traits and things that would help us with our diary entry or news paper.
For the task we had to create a news paper article or a diary entry. For the newspaper article you had pretend you were interviewing St. Bernadette and write down some facts too. It had to be like you were having a conversation with St. Bernadette about her visions. For the diary entry we had to pretend that we were St. Bernadette and write in a diary entry about what had happened to St. Bernadette. I did the Diary Entry.
This is my Diary Entry:
February 11th, 1858
Today, I had a vision of a lady, she looked young like teenage years and
she was wearing white clothing with a blue ribbon tied around her waist
with gold roses on both her feet.. When I saw her she didn’t say anything,
I started to pray the rosary as she joined me. My sister and friend were
getting wood and when they were finished I asked them if they saw anything
and they both said no. I told them what I saw and they promised to not tell anyone.
The next day there were newspapers with my name on them saying what I had seen.
My aunt took me back to the grotto, telling me to make sure the lady I saw in my
visions told me her name. There were more people there that time, they all watched
as I prayed the Rosary. She appeared, I pointed to where she was and nobody
saw anything. “There is no need to write down what I have to say,” she said.
She asked me if I would do her a favour and come back to this place for 14 days.
I told her with my parents permission I will do so. That same night my parents
gave me permission to go back to the grotto. I prayed the Our Father as everyone
did the same.
“Dear Lady, Would you be so kind to tell me your name” I repeated 2 more times.
The last day I asked her what her name was, she then answered,
“I am the Immaculate Conception.”
Thank you for coming to this blog! :)
