I was a student at St Bernadette’s Primary School. This is a place where I shared my learning with you. Please note… some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Parts of a Plant
Kia Ora!
This term we have been learning about biodiversity - Parts of a plant. We have been doing a lot od tasks based on this topic. I am going to be talking about the Parts of a plant.
Our first task, we were put into groups of 3 and given a pack of cards. The cards had bugs and insects on them. Out of those insects and bugs we had to put them into 2 piles, one pile for the friends and the other for the foes - pests. When all the groups had finished doing that task we all shared 1 each of those two piles. This task was very interesting to do because it was hard to figure out what bug was a friend or foe.
There is a google drawing that me and my buddy had made to sum everything that we have been learning up. This google drawing is basically showing and telling what the different parts of a plant do and how they help.
Here is the google drawing:

Anzac
Kia Ora!
In class for topic we have been learning about why animals are important in war and about life in the Trenches. These topics are both related to war. For this we went onto the sites that our teacher had out out for us. There were also videos we watched for the task. These videos were about animals in war and life in the Trenches. There was also a book to read about life in the trenches. In this padlet we had to link 2 sites that helped us learn.
The tasks were to create a newspaper article about why animals are important in war. The other task was to use Thinglink or Prezi to create a presentation about Life in the Trenches. We also learnt about John Simpson.

Koru's
Kia Ora! In class for topic we have been researching about Koru's. We have been gathering this information and putting it all together.
Here is what I found:
Koru's are used to represent creations because of the way it was shaped in a circular way. The Koru design is also used for decorations, it could be used for tatoos, Maori Art and carvings. The Word 'Koru' means 'Loop' in english. It represents new life and growth, it means strength and peace. Many people believe that Koru means to have a fresh start and new life. Koru's are a symbol to new life, growth and strength.
Kowhaiwhai patterns are used to help tell a story. Kowhaiwhai patterns can sometimes be seen in a Marae, including Korus. The colours on a kowhaiwhai are Red, White and Black.
